We made this poster, which we know looks like a mug shot, and put it up all over the neighborhood. We put "Jazz's" collar and leash on her and thought we'd parade her down the street for awhile in case someone was looking for her. No go. Then... a little neighbor girl said, "I think this dog belongs 3 doors down. I think her name is 'Pixel' or 'Pixie' or something like that." I thought, "Pixie"... it must be right because she has the tallest, spindliest legs I've ever seen on a dog, like pixie sticks. While B continued putting up flyers around the neighborhood, I walked the dog over to the yard where the girl said she belonged. It didn't look like anyone was home but as we walked by the livingroom window I heard a small child exclaim, "PIXIE!!!!" and I knew we were home...

I was prepared to be depressed for the rest of the day and to have nightmares several hours later. Alas, my face can now be home to a smile tonight rather than tears. I already like you, just because of the dog thing.
What a cutie-pie. Did you keep her? (You didn't say) A year or so ago, our H.S. shelter and two others who took the overflow, rescued 140 chihauhuas from a nightmare-from-hell "breeder". I should resurrect that story for my blog. hmmmmmmm
It was very big news in Wisconsin for quite a while. I even got my fat face on local news while I was snuggling one terrified little weenie after her bath........well, I'll sharpen some pencils and get to work..........Bring Kleenex.
